drinkbar DO snack:

ROASTED CHICKPEAS. This is one of our ultimate favorites. It is easy, affordable and you can have access to these ALL YEAR ROUND. We suggest buying the canned and organic when possible. Rinse the chickpeas well and soak in fresh water from 1-7 hours to improve digestion.

RECIPE

  • 1 can of Organic Chickpeas, drained, rinsed, and soaked.

  • Garlic POWDER( not salt)

  • Cayenne Pepper

  • Black Pepper

  • Fresh Lemon

  • Fresh Parsley

Preheat your oven to 405 degrees. It is important to put it on a high setting so the chickpeas can get nice and crispy.

Soak the chickpeas(anywhere from 1-7 hours, you do not HAVE to do this, but starting this habit will greatly reduce any chance of bloating when digesting), rinse and drain.

Pour chickpeas into a bowl, squeeze fresh lemon, stir. (We suggest lemon in place of salt and oil, oil is not always bad but most oils are  INCREDIBLY processed. Find more information on the dangers of oils here.)

Add in all your seasonings to taste, to the bowl, and stir. Anytime you can cut out salt, is great. The lemon will help the spices stick to the peas and offer you that savory flavor. Keeping your snacks as close to nature as possible is always best. Lemon adds a wonderful zest and zing without sacrificing your taste buds applause.

Spread the chickpeas on a cookie sheet so they are not over lapping. Bake for about 20 minutes. Shuffle the chickpeas halfway through to make sure they are getting evenly toasted.
